STAVROU
A minimal, editorial portfolio for an Athens architecture studio. Clean, quiet, confident.

STAVROU is a self-initiated concept for a freelance architect in Athens. We set out to design a portfolio that feels like the work itself: precise, restrained, and built around craftsmanship. It had to present projects beautifully, and let a studio publish new ones without a developer.
What we did
We designed a small multi-page site around a single thread: architecture in the details. A drawn villa opens the home page and shifts from dark to light, a dimension line underlines the manifesto, and a spiral staircase is drawn in line art before crossfading into its real photograph. Line becomes matter. Every project runs on one template, and the whole site is wired to a CMS so a studio could add new work on its own.
- A hand-drawn villa that builds itself on load, then transitions from dark to light.
- A signature "line to matter" moment: a staircase drawn in line art crossfades into the real photo.
- An editorial process section where a connecting line reveals each step in sync.
- One reusable project template across six case pages, kept byte for byte consistent.
- A self-serve CMS (Eleventy and Sveltia) so a studio could publish projects without code.
- Bilingual (EL / EN), with strong Lighthouse scores and full SEO.
